Bling Your Game. The Biggest Trend of 2019

Sharing is caring!

Everywhere we turn this year, we’re blinded by bling. It’s not a new trend, but it’s the biggest one of 2019 and it’s our favourite. So this post’s just a bit of love for Bling and a few ideas for how you can bling it into your wardrobe, like the stars have (.. see what we did there🃏).

Bling started its 2019 world domination on the spring catwalks of fashion giants like Givenchy, Miu Miu and Chanel. It’s already taken over the pop world, in Ariana Grande’s 7 Rings video and the universe that is Instagram. So that’s where we’re taking inspiration from.

Ariana never needs an explanation. So we’re just gonna drop her lyrics here for ya.

“Yeah, breakfast at Tiffany’s and bottles of bubbles
Girls with tattoos who like getting in trouble
Lashes and diamonds, ATM machines
Buy myself all of my favourite things
“Wearing a ring, but ain’t gon’ be no “Mrs.”
Bought matching diamonds for six of my bitches
I’d rather spoil all my friends with my riches
Think retail therapy my new addiction”

Post Malone’s a huge fan of the icy look. Setting the 2019 trend off with a pose for the ultimate fashion moguls Vogue.

Most of ya probably could pull off the pink studded look if ya really wanted, but you’re probably better off toning it down a bit on the streets.

Posty’s a great style figure for how to jazz out to the max and how to look chill & casual with your icy bits.

The jewellery world lost its shit when Lady Gaga stepped onto the Oscars red carpet wearing “The Tiffany Diamond”. A yellow, cushion-cut diamond of ya’know, just a measly … 128.54 carats!

The stone had only been worn twice in public before, once by the legendary Audrey Hepburn.

Obviously, not all of us have a historic rock the size of a small dog in our wardrobes. But you can channel this look easily by following the classic style tip of Gaga and Hepburn: Let the bling speak for itself.

Lady  Gaga wore a black Alexander McQueen gown and Hepburn wore a little black number by Givenchy. Proving that black really is the perfect base for bling. – It trains your eyes to go directly to the ice and shows off its frostiness.

Drake knows what it’s about. He rocks a more casual version of this look for almost any event. With a turtle neck to proper make the bling pop and for a chilled “I just threw this together” vibe.

Snoop Dogg’s got it down as well. But with an extra fuckload of OG glam that only Snoop Dogg can get away with.

Neymar’s rarely (possibly never) seen off the pitch without a full entourage of diamonds.

He’s one of the best for making a layered style look both Super Saiyan level-powerful and effortlessly laid back.

Usually by mixing up the length or materials of his necklaces, or the colours of his earrings, watch straps and bracelets.

Bold clashing colours are a trend this summer and bling is the perfect way to dominate this style. Try mixing up different coloured gems in all your pieces.

And we gotta end on Offset’s freaking adorable lil boy Kody, who’s got more style than most of us can even dream of.

And he rocks it pure naturally with a relaxed little get up of a grey tracksuit and icy gold.

He may be only 4 years old, but most of us could probably take a few style tips from Kody already.

There’s so many ways to wear bling, so there really ain’t any major rules when it comes to this trend. Except that if you’re gonna Bling It, you better Bling It On Hard.

And that’s all there is to rocking ya bling like the stars. So, go on…Sling Ya Bling.
