It’s 12:15 am and we’re driving through the streets of London, searching for our hotel.
Just 3 hours ago we were at Wembley Stadium, revealing the 24 Icardi X MJJ customised Rolex Datejusts to Icardi and his Inter Milan teammates. . . Mental!
But now we only have 4 hours before we’re supposed to be waking up to catch a 7:30am flight, Valencia bound.
Today, we’ve been invited to the Batcave.
With a professional profile that began in 2011, the 25 year old is famed for his skills as a striker, but is loved for his carefree style and social media banter. The likes of which have led his fans to nickname him “The Batsman” and have seen him placed as one of the best players on EA Sports FIFA 2018.
MJJ and The Batsman’s friendship evolved in 2016, when he transferred to Chelsea and chose a Datejust 41mm to add to his collection.
The Batsman invited MJJ to the Belgium VS. Netherlands friendly game, where he came up with the idea for a bespoke Batsman pendant. MJJ got straight onto the bespoke process, delivering a few designs inspired by the iconic Batman eras before he decided on the 1998 symbol.
The 9ct, solid white gold pendant is handset with three and a half carats of black and white diamonds and hangs on a 9ct, white gold MJJ Franco chain. Engraved on the reverse is his nickname “Batsman”.
Fast forward through the bespoke process and the Batman is ready to be returned to The Batsman.
By now, The Batsman was on loan from Chelsea to Valencia, a city famous for its symbols of bats scattering the streets . . . (Whether that’s a mere coincidence or proof of real life superheroes, we’ll leave up to you.)
It was to his Batcave in Valencia, that The Batsman invited MJJ to deliver the pendant.
Arriving at 9:30am, after a 2 hour flight, the MJJ team explored Valencia whilst waiting for The Batsman to rise . . . He was in need of a lay in after playing Juve F.C in the Champions League the night before.
Relaxing with his friends and teammate Diakhaby, The Batsman linked up with MJJ around midday.
The Batsman then showed off his jaw dropping trainer collection. An entire wall of the Batcave flooded with hypebeast rarities. Giving the MJJ team major sneaker envy.
After a short interview, and fuelled with orange juice made fresh from the tree in his garden, . . . Yes it’s really like “that”. . . Batshuayi destroyed the MJJ team in a series of two-touch and 2on2 games on his rooftop, overlooking the city.
Not realising the time, the Batsman sees the Bat-Signal in the sky and it’s a mad dash to his superhero duties at training and back to reality as he drives off into the sunset.
The MJJ team pack up, rehydrate, hop back into the van and set off for the airport.
. . . Ready for the next collab.
